RAFA Racing Club is set to make its debut in the McLaren Trophy America series this weekend at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas.
Team founder Rafael Martinez will partner with British ace Jon Lancaster in the Pro-Am category, driving the McLaren Artura Trophy Evo.
The McLaren Trophy America is a new single-make championship that commenced in March 2025 at Sonoma Raceway.
The series features identical McLaren Artura Trophy Evo cars with 50-minute races and mandatory pit stops. The championship spans five iconic U.S. circuits, including Virginia International Raceway, Road America, and Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
This weekend’s event at COTA includes a triple-header, with a make-up race for the weather-impacted Round 2 at Sonoma scheduled for Friday at 2:15 p.m. CST.
The regular COTA rounds will follow on Saturday at 2:50 p.m. CST and Sunday at 11:05 a.m. CST. All races will be streamed live on SRO’s GT World and McLaren Automotive’s YouTube channels, as well as on SRO Motorsports’ Twitch channel.
Martinez and Lancaster bring a strong partnership to the series, having previously competed together in the GT4 European Series aboard McLaren machinery. This season in the European GT4 Series powered by the RAFA Racing Club, Lancaster is taking a mentor role by working with the young racers competing for the RAFA Racing Club by RACELAB McLaren team.
