Four championships across four consecutive race weekends will keep RAFA Racing Team on the move before its season concludes with an international finale.

The run begins this weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where RAFA will operate three cars across IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge and Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America.

Canadian Tire Motorsport Park race winners Kiko Porto and Varun Choksey will share the No. 12 Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2 in Michelin Pilot Challenge. Porto will also compete in Lamborghini Super Trofeo, sharing the No. 2 Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 with Tyler Gonzalez in the Pro class. Recent Road Atlanta winners Ian Porter and Chloe Chambers will drive the team’s No. 81 Lamborghini in Pro-Am.

Managing two championships at Indianapolis is the first stage of a four-week run that will take RAFA from Indiana to Alabama, Georgia and back to Indiana.

“Indianapolis is the start of one continuous four-week operation for us,” RAFA Racing Team Principal Kevin Conway said.

“We have three cars competing in two championships this weekend, but we also have to keep preparing the cars and equipment needed at Barber, Road Atlanta and the Indianapolis 8 Hour weekend. Every program is moving on a different schedule.”

Following Indianapolis, RAFA will travel to Barber Motorsports Park for the penultimate Pirelli GT4 America weekend of the season. Gonzalez and Westin Workman will share the Silver-class No. 68 Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2, while Chris Spada and Werner Neugebauer will compete in Pro-Am aboard the No. 812 Toyota.

The team’s Charlotte headquarters becomes the center of the operation between events, with cars returning for inspection, servicing and preparation before the transporters leave again.

“There is no opportunity to put everything away and reset,” Conway said. “The cars come off the trucks and immediately go through inspection. Any repairs have to be completed, the equipment has to be serviced and the transporters have to be restocked. At the same time, the engineers are reviewing the previous weekend and preparing setups for the next circuit.”

One week after Barber, RAFA will compete in two IMSA championships during the Motul Petit Le Mans weekend at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

Porto and Choksey will return in the No. 12 Toyota for the Michelin Pilot Challenge season finale. Championship leader Workman and Rafael Martinez will represent the team in separate Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2 entries in the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge, with Workman driving the No. 8 and Martinez the No. 68.

The combined program places additional demands on the team’s personnel and equipment, particularly during sessions scheduled closely together.

The fourth consecutive weekend returns RAFA to Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Pirelli GT4 America season finale, part of the Indianapolis 8 Hour event from October 9–11.

Gonzalez and Workman will contest the final GT4 America races in the No. 68 Toyota, with Spada and Neugebauer continuing in the No. 812 entry.

Although the team will return to the same circuit it visited three weeks earlier, the cars, championship and event format will be different.

“We will already have raced at Indianapolis, Barber and Road Atlanta by the time we return for the Indy 8 Hour weekend,” Conway said. “Going back to the same venue does help operationally, but it is a different championship and a pair of one-hour races. The preparation has to reflect the demands of that program.”

The four domestic events account for approximately 3,430 miles of transporter travel between the circuits and RAFA Racing Team’s Charlotte headquarters. That figure does not include local transportation or the movement of personnel between the shop, airports, hotels and circuits.

But the Indianapolis 8 Hour weekend does not bring the season to an end.

Two weeks later, RAFA Racing Team will compete at Autodromo Nazionale Monza in Italy for the Lamborghini World Finals from October 22–25. The event includes the final races of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America season before competitors from Lamborghini’s regional championships meet in the World Finals.

The international event presents another major logistical challenge, requiring RAFA to send its Lamborghini race cars, spare parts and equipment overseas while coordinating international freight, customs documentation, flights and accommodation.

“Monza adds another huge logistical challenge,” Conway said. “Sending race cars overseas is very different from loading the transporters and driving to the next circuit. The freight schedule, customs paperwork and equipment lists all have to be finalized well in advance, while we are still competing every weekend in the United States.”

The cars must be prepared and dispatched early enough to clear customs and reach Italy on schedule. Team personnel will then travel separately, with flights and arrival times coordinated around the freight and the event timetable.

“You have to plan for what the team will need thousands of miles away and make sure nothing is left behind,” Conway said. “If you need a component at Barber or Road Atlanta, you can bring it from Charlotte. At Monza, everything has to be in the shipment or carried with the team. That requires another level of planning.”

From the opening Indianapolis weekend through the Lamborghini World Finals, RAFA Racing Team will compete at five events across six weeks in the United States and Italy.

“It is a demanding end to the year, but it demonstrates the capability we have built within the team,” Conway said. “We are supporting drivers and cars across several championships, both domestically and internationally. The only way to make that work is through preparation, communication and a complete team effort.”
