Jem Hepworth kicks off Indian Racing League campaign

Fresh from her first Lamborghini Super Trofeo race victory, RAFA Racing Team driver Jem Hepworth begins a new chapter this weekend as she makes her debut in the 2025 Indian Racing League with Kichcha’s Kings Bengaluru.

The five-round championship opens at Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore (August 15–17), where Hepworth will join forces with an accomplished lineup — Le Mans legend and former Formula E racer Neel Jani, Indian racing star and multiple race winner Ruhaan Alva, and talented single-seater competitor Kyle Kumaran.

With each Indian Racing League team required to have at least one female driver, Hepworth brings momentum from her GT racing success and a wealth of international experience to the squad.

“The team I will be in is Kichcha’s Kings Bengaluru. Each team has four drivers, and each team must have at least one female driver,” Hepworth said.

“The whole thing behind the Indian Racing League is really exciting because it’s all about diversity and making motorsport more inclusive.

“I’m super excited to be representing RAFA Racing Club out in India as well.”

For Hepworth, the move marks a return to single-seaters in a car she describes as a blend between Formula 4 and Formula 3.

“In India, it is a very different car — obviously it’s back to a single-seater. It’s super light, with a decent amount of brake horsepower. The mixture between how light the car is and how much downforce you have makes it a super fast car, especially through the corners.”

Following the Coimbatore opener, the championship will head to Madras International Circuit in Chennai from August 22–24, before returning to Kari Motor Speedway on October 3–5. The venues for Rounds 4 and 5, set for November 1–2 and November 29–30, will be confirmed later.

The 2025 Indian Racing League will feature city-based teams battling for national glory in front of passionate home crowds across some of India’s top FIA-graded circuits.
