RAFA Racing Team faces a unique challenge in this weekend’s Pirelli GT4 America round at Circuit of The Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas.
This round features the Lone Star Enduro, a unique three-hour endurance race that deviates from the series’ typical format of two 60-minute sprint races.
The No. 72 RAFA Racing Team Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2, driven by Anthony Geraci and Kenny Schmied, enters the weekend leading the Am class standings. At the season opener in Sonoma, the duo secured a class victory in Race 1. In Race 2, they initially crossed the line first in class but were later assessed a 30-second post-race penalty for contact, resulting in a second-place finish.
RAFA Racing’s No. 68 Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2 piloted by Tyler Gonzalez and Gresham Wagner in the Silver class is looking to bounce back this weekend after mechanical issues in Race 1 at Sonoma.
The duo fought back in Race 2 to finish second but now have their sights set on endurance success in Texas.
“Sonoma wasn’t a perfect event for us, so I’m excited for our upcoming race at COTA, especially with the unique challenge of the 3-hour enduro,” Wagner said.
“I know we still have a lot of potential to unlock, and with double points awarded for the race, executing at the level we’re capable of and fighting for the win is the clear goal.
“I know the entire team is ready to chase after it.”
The race is scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m. CST on Saturday, April 26. Fans can watch live coverage on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel and Twitch.
