RAFA Racing Team championship success at Road Atlanta

RAFA Racing Team capped off a dream season in the VP Racing SportsCar Challenge with a commanding 1–2 finish in the championship standings after Road Atlanta, as Kiko Porto clinched the overall title and Ian Porter secured second place while claiming the Bronze Cup victory.

Driving the Toyota Gazoo Racing GR Supra GT4 EVO2, both drivers showcased consistency and teamwork that defined RAFA’s 2025 campaign across IMSA’s sprint platform.

“Winning the championship feels amazing. It feels like a consequence of everything the boys from RAFA Racing have put together,” Porto said.

“I remember getting in the car at Daytona for the first practice. The amount of work they’ve done since then to give me this bullet of a car, all this year.

“It’s just a pleasure to be the chosen one to drive the No. 8 car from RAFA Racing. It’s just absolutely an honor to represent this group.

“We had much cooler conditions today. Starting the race knowing we already had the championship secured made it a bit calmer for sure. The Supra was really good in the cold, so thank you to Toyota and RAFA for that.

“Even with a full fuel load, I was able to improve on my qualifying lap time — the car was on fire early on. For the first five or so laps, I was just trying to maintain the pace.

“It’s been a great way to close out the VP Racing SportsCar Challenge season.”

Porto’s teammate Ian Porter added to the team’s celebration by locking in second place in the overall standings and winning the Bronze Cup title — a testament to his steady rise through the field over the past two seasons.

“I’ve made a whole lot of sacrifices. My wife and I even moved cities so I could pursue racing. We’ve taken massive risks,” Porter said.

“So to me, it’s like all this hard work I’ve put in over the last two or three years is finally paying off right now. But I think there’s still a lot more to go for me personally.”
