RAFA Racing Team makes IMSA history with win for all-female lineup

At Road America, RAFA Racing Team’s all-female lineup of Lindsay Brewer and Jem Hepworth delivered a defining historic moment—claiming victory in IMSA-sanctioned competition and carving their names into the record books.

Brewer and Hepworth broke through in the No. 2 RAFA Racing / Lamborghini Austin Huracán, claiming a dominant win in Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America after three straight second-place finishes.

Hepworth sealed the result with a decisive move on Graham Doyle’s No. 10 WTR Huracán heading into Turn 5.

Doyle ran wide on corner exit, giving Hepworth the opening she needed. She took the lead and never looked back, building a 14.789-second gap by the checkered flag.

“That stint was the best stint of my life,” Hepworth said.

“I was chasing down P1, I knew I had time and had about 12 minutes on the clock. I thought, ‘Let’s not do anything outrageous and wait for him to make a bit of a mistake.’

“Last night we were distraught with second; at the beginning of the season, we’d have been thrilled for it! We wanted the win, and we got it.”

Brewer set the stage with a strong opening stint, charging through the field and handing the car off in podium position.

“Jem did an incredible job at the end,” Brewer said. “We gained a lot of positions at the start to bring it to P3, and Jem took it home. This is my favorite track, and it’s such an incredible place to have my first win here.”

RAFA Racing Team founder Rafael Martinez praised the effort and underscored the significance of the achievement.

“This is what RAFA Racing Team was built for,” Martinez said.

“To break barriers, create opportunity, and win at the highest level. Jem and Lindsay drove an incredible race, and this historic win is just the beginning. We hope it’s the first of many for this team and for women in IMSA.”

Brewer and Hepworth now have six podiums from eight races and sit equal second in the championship points. The duo have one more chance to repeat their victory on home soil at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on September 18-20.

The championship is expected to go down to the wire at the season finale in Misano, Italy, on November 6-7.
