Winning weekend to cap off 2025 in GT4 America

RAFA Racing Club capped off its 2025 Pirelli GT4 America season with a pair of victories at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, winning in the Silver class in Race 1 and the Am class in Race 2.

The team ultimately fell one place short of their championship goal, finishing second in both the Silver class with Tyler Gonzalez and Gresham Wagner, and the Am class with Kenny Schmied and Anthony Geraci, missing out by a solitary point in the Am battle.

The opening race of the weekend proved chaotic from the start, with a multi-car incident on the opening lap triggering a lengthy full-course yellow that stretched deep into the first half of the race.

When the race finally went green, RAFA Racing Club’s No. 68 Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2, driven by Gonzalez and Wagner, quickly found its rhythm. Gonzalez charged through the field in the final 25 minutes, taking control of the Silver class and the overall lead.

Despite being handed a five-second post-race penalty for contact while overtaking traffic, Gonzalez’s pace was enough to retain the class victory — a testament to the team’s consistency and competitiveness throughout the season.

“What a crazy race,” said Gonzalez.

“The whole first stint was under yellow, which was tough for Gresham. It was a good battle in Silver class. It was tight, hard racing. I thought I had more breathing room than I did, but when I caught the Pro-Am leader, I had to make a move in the technical sections.

“We didn’t have much speed on the straights, so I made it happen. A little contact, but that’s racing. Super happy to keep this Toyota Supra up front.”

“When Tyler gets a five-second penalty and still pulls five seconds on the field, that gives us confidence,” added Wagner. “He’s going to hand me the car in a great spot, and I’ll just try to wrap it up.”

The weekend continued with another strong performance in the Am category, as Schmied and Geraci delivered a commanding drive in the No. 72 Toyota Supra GT4.

The pair led the Am field to victory in Race 2 after rivals Fast Track Racing were penalized for a pit lane speed violation. The result capped a near-perfect weekend for RAFA, though the team ultimately fell just one point short of clinching the Am class championship after a season-long duel with BimmerWorld’s James Clay and Charlie Postins.

“We lost to a great team today; they were fast, clean, and competitive all season,” said Geraci. “Kenny gave me a great car, and I just tried to bring it home strong. It’s been a fantastic year.”

“We did everything we could today,” added Schmied. “Losing the championship by one point stings, but it’s been such a strong season. The team gave us an incredible car every weekend, and Anthony was outstanding all year.”

The pair of victories at Indianapolis marked a fitting close to a standout campaign for RAFA Racing Club. This season showcased the team’s growing presence and performance across multiple GT4 America classes.
